RS720-E8-RS24-E is a 2U rack server that's perfectly built for high-capacity storage with extreme computing performance. With two dedicated 2.5-inch drive bays and one M.2 (NGFF) slot for convenient operating system (OS) installation and engineered with premium components for premium efficiency, RS720-E8-RS24-E is ideal for datacenters and other enterprise applications.

High Speed 2U storage capacity and additional OS kernal disk

RS720-E8-RS24-E is equipped with 24 SAS/SATA 2.5inch drive bays. The hot-swappable design provides non-stop high availability, making short work of maintenance. RS720-E8-RS24-E also offers great freedom when it comes to the choice of operating system drive type and placement, with both M.2 slot and rear SSD bays available. And because 2.5-inch drive bays offer faster transferring rate, RS720-E8-RS24-E is ideal for data analytics, cloud computing, data management, and business-critical workloads.

Advanced cooling

There are two groups of fans and each group has two fans. One group of fans is dedicatedly for CPUs and the fans change the speed accordingly to meet different demands. The other group is dedicatedly for the rest of serverboard. In this way, RS720-E8-RS24-E offers excellent thermal solution, heat dissipation and energy savings. It's even possible to adjust the fan speed manually, so you have flexible choice to meet different working environment.

The RS720-E8-RS24-E has high expandability with five expansion slots meeting the demands of future expansion. There are three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (x16 link), one PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot (x8 link), one PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot (x4 link). This flexible expansion offers diverse applications in storage and networking to meet the demands of future expansion and high scalability in a 2U case. ASUS PIKE II and ASUS 10G LAN card are also available for diverse applications.

RS720-E8-RS24-E benefits from premium components hand-chosen and carefully arranged by ASUS engineers to provide premium efficiency. With ASUS Beat Thermal Chokes, Dr. MOS and 1+1 80 PLUS 770W Gold power supplies, it delivers great durability and up to 92% power efficiency. The 1+1 power supply design allows the server to keep working even if one power supply requires maintenance, enabling uninterrupted operation. RS720-E8-RS24-E has durable 12k solid capacitors that are able to withstand up to 12,000 hours of high ambient temperatures. These 12K capacitors also boast lower equivalent series resistance (ESR) for increased efficiency and minimal heat generation.

With the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0-compliant ASMB8-iKVM module in RS720-E8-RS24-E, you'll be able to monitor, control and manage the server remotely. ASUS Server Web-based Management (ASWM) Enterprise has a simple and intuitive web-based graphical user interface.
